    12:21
Over the next few months, Adidas will be releasing their 4 Elements of Hip Hop Collection, which will feature sets of shoes inspired by DJ’s, Graffiti Artists, B-Boys, and MC’s, all elements of Hip Hop.

This particular pack ^^ was inspired by the B-Boy element, and includes the Decade Hi, Superstar 2, and the Superstar 86. They pay tribute to break dancers, who played important in the early stages of Hip Hop. The Decade Hi model features an interesting design, designed to look like dirty cardboard which resembles the surface that b-boys used to dance on.

    Nike 1948...
    14:29

There seems to be a growing trend of big name brands expanding into the East London area, and Nike is the latest with '1948'.

The new sportswear concept store in Shoreditch is a melting pot of futurism, old-school, and styled like your school gymnasium...minus the smell.
The display units are made of basketball hoops, parallel bars and gym horses, all mixed up with bright, bold, mismatched shoe and sportswear designs.
The rainbow hi-tops were a personal highlight (I'm seriously considering copping them in blue and yellow).

    Topshop X Afrikids...
    21:01

Topshop has announced yet another collaboration, but this time it is for a good cause.
The high street store has teamed up with Humankind and AfriKids to create a six-piece summer capsule collection of vivid print dresses and camisoles inspired by traditional West African design.

Handcrafted on a Fairtrade basis, each piece will go towards a collection to raise money for impoverished communities in Northern Ghana.

To be launched in stores this month, the aim of the collection is to help AfriKids set up an "eco-lodge" venture, which aims to transform the local economy by providing sustainable changes through jobs and increased tourism.

Georgie Fienberg, international director at AfriKids, which was founded in 2002, said:

'Opening the AfriKids Lodge will mark AfriKids out as a new kind of NGO; one that genuinely aims to become indigenously run and sustained, eliminating the need for Western donors and putting itself at the centre of its local economy's development.'

    Khia 'Nasti Muzik' Karaoke
    Wednesday, August 06, 2008 16:58
I'm sure everyone remembers Khia's 'My neck...' those of you who caught her on Miss Rap Supreme know she's alive and kicking (",) and still making music. Her music is what can be described as direct and raw, and when I came across this sing-a-long video for her song 'Be your lady' I thought I may as well share. Please be aware it is explicit.

    Reasons to attend...

Morgan Zarate will be playing! For those who are unfamiliar with his work he is a producer, drummer, beatmaker and musical connoisseur from London.
Also known as Morgan Spacek, he has been working as an influential producer and remixer for many years, continually pushing forward the sound of future soul music.

Recently Morgan has collaborated with great artists including Raphael Saddiq and Slum Village plus many more which will remain under wraps until his long awaited solo full-length LP is released.
The single "Sticks and Stones" features Ghostface of Wu-Tang Clan and one of our finest UK vocalists Eska, enjoy.

Miss Vula is set to perform too, I'm so excited to see her perform again :-)

    eLZhi 'The Preface'
    11:33

Like many others I'm a fan of Slum Villiage so when I was sent news of eLZhi's new album it got my ears instantly. Listening to his tracks on his Myspace he almost immediately got my stamp of approval, so much so I was unable to choose a favorite. His music commands your attention and gains your arrpoval all in one swoop whether it be through; the beat the, carefully structered lyrical flow and deliverance or the content. eLZhi's 'The Preface' definitely delivers.

Fatlip - "What's Up Fatlip? (Breakbot RMX)"
    Tuesday, August 05, 2008 23:29
Self criticism is a hard character trait to find, there are a few people who openly flout their short comings. So Fatlips 'Whats up Fatlip' definitely caught my attention and I'm really feeling the new Breakbot RMX, a nice summer jam to match the little explosion of summer we've been experiencing. The track and the video definitely get a thumbs up from me.

    Light Art...
    13:22

British artist Alan Jaras turns light into amazing works of art.
A majority of the works are analogue images of the refraction patterns from a beam of light passing through a transparent object (He uses pieces of textured glass). The image is captured directly on to 35mm film, no camera lens is used, the transparent object replaces the lens. Colour is then introduced by placing specially prepared colored filters directly in the light beam.

'These images have not been computer generated or color treated. The colors you see are a faithful reproduction of those captured on film,'
    - Jaras.

Shout out to Tony 'the marvelous' for introducing me to his work!

    Rapex??
    13:17
Rapex is a anti-rape condom, worn by women premeditatively. It has barbs on it so that during an attack, the barbs get stuck on the male genitalia and they are only removal by a doctor.

    Err...I have a few questions:

When and how often do you actually wear this?

What if the attacker gets pissed and tries to kill you?

What if the barbs get stuck in you?

Are we really going to call this invention 'Rapex'??

And surely if the barbs are stuck on his penis the rape has already happened, has'nt enough trauma occured?
Unless you warn the guy ahead of time 'Hey if you do that you are gonna get barbs stuck in your dick."

Hmm...I'll just stick with the killer moves I learnt from Bruce Lee, thanks.
