    H&M x Jimmy Choo...1 day to go!
    Friday, November 13, 2009 14:28

It's the eve of the Jimmy Choo and H&M's collaboration, everybody's talking about it and discussing whether or not its worth risking their life to attend. I still haven't decided if I wanted to spend my day off fighting for the last thigh high boots in my size or even better waiting for a few hours in the rain.

    Fafi x Adidas...
    Tuesday, November 10, 2009 15:09

Legendary French female street artist, Fafi has teamed up with Adidas Originals to create a limited edition collection of ladies footwear and clothing. Fafi is best known for her canvas work and handpainted graffiti.
The women’s collection features a total of five different models. The predominately white bases of the Superskate, Honey Low, Honey Mid and Stan Smith Velcro are joined by the lone black colorway of The Sneeker.
Its been a while since I've been excited about footwear that didn't include a killer heel, but the Superskate definately belongs in my wardrobe!

The Original Soul Man is back
    Wednesday, November 26, 2008 15:44
You probably remember Anthony Hamilton from his timeless classic; 'Coming where I'm From' or my personal favourite 'Charlene' .... his rough yet soft as silk voice captures me every time, you know those artists that make you close your eyes, click your fingers and rock to the beat ....LOL. This combined with his heartfelt, down to earth lyrics is what makes him my original Soul Man... check out his new song from his new album; The Point of it All

    MOB x Nike...
    Friday, November 14, 2008 02:08

Married to the Mob has collaborated with Nike on a pair of Dunk High Supremes. They feature a clean white woven cotton upper accented with glossy black patent leather trim. The glossy patent trim throws me off a bit, but I'm loving the gold MOB logo lace locks and flap clips...and Christmas is only 40 days away *ahem* :-)

    01:20
    ....Ms Dy-na-mi-tee!!

Remember when Ms. Dynamite used to spit?? Ahh...the good old days :-)

Well It seems like she's going back to her roots with a brand new track entitled 'Bad Gyal', produced by Sticky, of 'Boo!' fame.

I have a feeling that loads of artist's will jumping on the remix to this track...

I know its only a one minute rip (Semtex!) but its good enough for now.

    Jourdan Dunn x Vogue UK...
    14:52

After starring as one of the cover girls on the ground breaking Vogue Italia ‘A Black Issue’, Jourdan Dunn is now on the cover of Vogue UK.

Despite the fact she shares the Vogue UK cover with Eden Clark and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, it’s a start.
The last black model to be featured on the cover of Vogue UK was Naomi Campbell in 2002.

It seems the industry is slowly but surely moving forward.

    Jean Grae 'The Evil Jeanius'...
    Monday, September 29, 2008 09:35

In the past I have mentioned my appreciation for Jean Grae, and like most her fans I rejoyced at the official release of Jeanius and nearly cried a small river when a statement was released saying she was retiring from Hip Hop.

But it seems like Miss Ibrahim has had a change of heart [Insert a big smile here] and is releasing a collaborative album called 'The Evil Jeanius' with production entirely by Blue Sky Black Death.

Scheduled for release on Tuesday 30th September 2008

    Duro Olowo - Spring '09
    09:33

Duro Olowu has delivered a flood of color and pattern, combined into a visual feast for spring 2009.
Inspired by West African masquerades and the film
Black Orpheus, prints and accessories have a tribalism to them. With colorfully bold prints worked into sweeping gowns and patch-worked in other areas.

Despite all this visual commotion the silhouettes are classic and chic as Olowu’s cut allow the clothes to be wearable. Just not for the timid.

It's wonderful to see both her music and art come alive through pieces we can wear which is why I'm loving the collection, originally done for her Kala tour the limited edition collection features a vivid depiction of everything M.I.A

For the collection she only made 1000 pieces so if you want one you better get your skates on.

    Danielle Scutt @ Topshop...
    Monday, June 09, 2008 20:39

Topshop are well known for having designer collections, the latest is Danielle Scutt, a fellow Londoner who brings with her underground cred. Scutt has focused on denim for the ten-piece range of high-waisted miniskirts and micro-biker jackets (available now), saying she was inspired by the way the fabric can unite subcultures and generations.
Topman, meanwhile, has unveiled its Classic Sunglasses project for summer, following last year's White Shirt Project. Designers getting shady are Kim Jones, Bernhard Willhelm, 0044, Oliver Spencer and Linda Farrow (who, in addition to being the manufacturers of the collaboration, designed their own frames). Take your pick from a futuristic aviator (Jones), a classic wayfarer (Spencer) or something more indescribable (Willhelm), all available online now.
And for our friends across the pond, Topshop/Topman have confirmed they will open their first store on U.S. soil in September, at 480 Broadway.
