Wile Out is the first track to be released from DJ Zinc’s forthcoming Wile Out EP.
Set to be released on 8th February on Bingo Bass records, Wile Out features Ms Dynamite on DJ Zinc’s Blunt Edge instrumental from his Crack House EP release late last year.

Adidas has teamed up with George Lucas for a Star Wars Collaboration!  If your a collector you can't really get much better than Star Wars x Adidas, and with this kind of attention to detail, Adidas  can pat themselves on the back knowing they have done this great film franchise justice.


The January drop consists of the Stormtrooper Superskate (£69) with clean lines and contrast black detail, the Famous Scenes Micropacer (£135) featuring embossed iridescent panels, and the ZX8000 Vader (£99) based on Vader's suit, including padding and circuit detail.


Due for release on the 16th January, remember where you read it first!

Wiley and co. continue music's new fascination with auto-tune :-(

On the first listen I was giving Wiley a serious side-eye, but after a few plays its grown on me. I still don't love it but I think it's Ghetto's appearance that makes me able to listen to the song at all .

And is it me or does this video look like its a really funny skit about grime artists'?

The use of a fine or broadmarker pen to create his subjects is becoming a noticeable trademark of Mr Kay's work and will also feature in his new project entitled; Legends by Will Kay.

A collection of 14 artistic drawings, based upon historical Black figures such as; Mae Carol Jemison, Malcolm X, Kwame Nkrumah, Pelé, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin, Angela Davis, Huey Newton, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, Afrikan Bambaata, Stevie Wonder, Billie Holiday and Muhammad Ali.

People who have not just influenced the artist but the world we live in.

Elbow for the Mercury Music Prize...the progressive rock band beat other nominees; Estelle, Rachel Unthank & The Winterset, Laura Marling, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Adele, Last Shadow Puppets, Portico Quartet, Burial, Neon Neon, and British Sea Power. Personally I was rooting for Estelle or Last Shadow Puppets, but congratulations to the winners.

North London has birthed some of the leading players within UK Hip Hop and Thai' Matic is no exception. Hailing from the North-West (to be exact) Mr Matic carves out his own niche with intellectual metaphors and distinguished individuality.

The BBC are introducing a new animated '08 Olympic campaign with the characters Monkey, Pigsy, and Sandy from 'the awesomely bad' 1970s live-action TV series 'Magic Monkey'. If this is from your era you might be shocked to discover this unknown narrative as a newly animated series by GORILLAZ members JAMIE HEWLETT and DAMON ALBARN.
Animated by legendary British inkslinger Hewlett with the score composed by Albarn, the Beeb’s new “Monkey” series of campaign animations and multi platform media spots (think mobile, web, and other interactive) is a big first for such a mainstream media company, especially in regard to the old institution that is the BBC.
Based on the story “Journey to the West,” a legendary Chinese novel published in the late 1500s and widely renowned as one of the country’s four most important works of fiction, the story follows a monk and his band of disciples as they battle a never-ending array of bad guys on a journey to reclaim a trove of sacred Buddhist scriptures for China. On this quest, the main character of Monkey dazzles in a series of battle scenes which he fights with his magic growing staff from the back of a flying cloud (sounds cool right?).





'...the idea is that you tell the entire story of Journey to the West in a two-minute opening sequence, which is basically them on their way to the Olympic stadium

Vula Malinga is going solo with her first single 'If You Want It', you might remember her from previous work with Basement Jaxx. I've been a fan since I saw her perform with TY, the woman is simply amazing live. She's performing at Favela Chic on the 23rd July, check her myspace for more details.





I really don't know how I feel about the new direction Mr Manuva seems to be taking on his forthcoming album 'Slime and Reason'. I appreciate that this single is meant to be fun and light-hearted but its such a change from his 'Colossal Insight' or 'Witness the Fitness' days...*sighs*
However, I do hope this provides the highly underated artist some mainstream attention.

London seems to be going through a massive creative renaissance at the moment and im loving it! The Deptford Project is a creative program situated in the old railway yard of Deptford Station, (which I found out is the city's oldest passenger only station). To be redeveloped into a new public square by Alison Brooks Architects in 2010, the old railyard and a listed Victorian carriage ramp will serve as a home for a series of art, design, music and film programs.



The first phase of the Deptford Project was seen earlier last month in the form of a repurposed train carriage. Executed by designer Morag Myerscough, the 1960s carriage has been transformed into a cafe serving up sustainably harvested coffee and locally sourced foodstuffs. The exterior, which also serves as a billboard for the project, has been graffitied with graphics reflecting the neighborhood's unique history. A light-filled interior, complete with custom furniture and vibrant light fixtures, will make for the perfect refuge when the rainy season returns.

More Vuitton news...Kanye West has said that he is collaborating on a new fashion project with the LV fashion house.
Vuitton show front-row regular West revealed at the French fashion house's spring 2009 show in Paris last week that he has signed on to create a line of men's footwear for the LVMH-owned luxury brand.

West also told the Guardian: "I grew up with the Louis look, you know. I just love the style."
The self-proclaimed 'Louis Vuitton Don' has said in the past that he has a passion for couture and that catwalk shows are "one of [his] favourite things in the world".

As well as working on the men's shoes range for the Louis Vuitton label, West revealed that he is also preparing his first own-name womenswear line of clothing which will be launched this Autumn.

Six years after Sam Peel is released from jail for killing Trife, he soon realises that life is no easier on the outside than it was on the inside and he's forced to confront the people he hurt the most. Some have moved on, others are stuck with the repercussions of his actions that night, but one thing's for certain - everyone has been forced to grow up. Through his journey Sam struggles to deal with his sorrow and guilt and something else he didn't expect - those seeking revenge. As he's pursued by a new generation of bad boys, Sam sets about trying to get the message across to his pursuers that they should stop the violence, much like Trife tried to tell him all those years ago. Can Sam stop the cycle of violence and make something positive from the destruction he caused or will his journey into Adulthood end here? A positive tale disguised in the bleakness of its environment, Adulthood pushes home the moral lesson that crime doesn't pay.

Expect scenes of women going slightly crazy in Dover Street Market between June 9th and the 26th, as it has been announced that Chanel will be launching an exclusive "Ephemeral" boutique there.

Visitors will be able to enjoy special window displays and installations devoted to the French fashion house throughout the event as well as the opportunity to buy a selection of clothing from Chanel's mainline collection.

Karl Lagerfeld describes the line:
"The tone is at the same time post-modern and romantic...It integrates a delicate punk sophistication."

Chanel fans will have the opportunity to purchase limited edition pieces from the Metiers d'Arts Paris-Londres collection.

Expect plenty of Tudor-style decadence, flat patent loafers with big gem brooches, knickerbockers, stiff pleated sleeves, bejewelled leather gloves, oversized knits and layers of tartan tulle.
