I love hearing about new and interesting creative projects especially when its mission is to 're-educate the globe'.

So imagine how intrigued I was to recieve an email about 'Pop’Africana' a project which aims to re-define African fashion and style in the media.

'Pop’Africana is a collaborative effort which aims to re-introduce and
re-define all aspects of 'Art Africano' . Not only will the magazine aim to
re-educate the globe on African ideas of style and individualism it also aims to
serve as a robust, visual guide for understanding the 'Africano pshyce' from an
all inclusive perspective. Pop’Africana sets the standard for iconic style and

A project like this is long overdue. Many people are unaware of Africa's cutting edge, bold fashion and style. I am so tired of the negative images the Media try to associate with Africa, so its great to see things such a this.

Foreign Exchange 'Daykeeper'...

The Foreign Exchange 's sophmore LP, Leave It All Behind, is out now....and it's a must buy!!
This album is on constant repeat in my house, work, uni...everywhere! lol

A video has been released for the album's debut single "Daykeeper" featuring all round fly girl, Muhsinah (Please check her out if you haven't already).
The video isn't high with drama but I love the blue tone effect and it works well with the song.

Insa 'Heels'

UK artist Insa introduces Insa Heels. It was only a matter of time for this to come, after the artist has become known through his heels design in recent years.

Based in London, ‘Insa Heels’ is a bold backlash against mass production and aims to establish itself as a luxury footwear brand with limited edition colours, using only top end materials and European production.

The artist got together with Ruth Shaw, a London based shoe designer, to bring Insa Heels to life. The first release includes three colorways of the "Classic" stiletto, both featuring the iconic Insa Heels designs.

The website with online store will be going live tomorrow, September 17th

Pearline Willimason was just minding her own business in Edmonton, North London when her purse was snatched by a woman in her early 20s.
The grandmother of hopeful British Olympic sprinter Simeon Williamson chased down the young woman and got her purse back.
...did I mention that she’s 78?

'She must have thought I was an easy touch because I'm elderly. When she took my purse I had to do something so I ran after her and grabbed her as hard as I could. She said she hadn’t taken it at first, so I shook the life out of her until she finally gave it back.'

So not only did the mugger stoop low enough to steal from an elderly woman, but she got run down and shaken like a Polaroid picture. Loves it!

Bashy 'Kidulthood to Adulthood'

Our favourite 'Black boy' Bashy not only has the leading track off the Adulthood soundtrack but he was also the music supervisor for the entire project!

'I was like brapp! Black boys up in this...'

Director Noel Clarke sought after Bashy after picking up his 'Chupa Cups' mixtape and noticed that a few of the tracks contained sample quotes from the first Kidulthood film.
'Kidulthood to Adulthood' is available to download everywhere from 30/06/08 and the original soundtrack is available from 16/06/08. Check out the film too, which is released next Friday.
